Day 22
We woke up in Lulu's camp at Palmer to an absolutely pouring rain. Fog was on the deck and 50 degrees. We waited to leave until about 9AM. Weather app should that we will be in a mess until Clam Gulch with is about 200 miles away.
I searched a local diner for breakfast and found Sami's City Diner on our way out of Anchorage. I love Peggy's diner when I was here last time but unfortunately it closed due to death of Peggy. So Sami's it is.
Well for the first time the app was right.
We got hammered!!! Could barely see the road in front due to massive downpour and fog. We stopped for gas and tried to dry off some but it was pointless.
Once we hit Clam Gulch it finally broke to some blue skies.
We are cruising along the Cook Inlet from Clam Gulch until we hit the southern end called Homer Spit in Homer.
It cleared up so we can now take some pictures and enjoy the beauty. This is the cook Inlet behind Boyd.
Spencer, here is our toast brother.
Wow what a tourist mecca!!! People everywhere, it was an absolute zoo. We took some pictures and pointed the front wheel north and split.
We are now heading to a friend of Boyd's that lives on the Kenai River. Well guess what is going on in the Kenai? SALMON season at it's prime.
We will hang here for a couple of days and wet a hook. Hopefully find a fish.
How can you not love this?
Let's see what tomorrow brings.
