Day 5,

We said goodbye to our new brother from Texas Tom this morning and headed north on the Cassiar  Highway. Had a great night camp under the stars again. Our 4th time with no tent.

Camp under the stars

Our new brother Tom

We re heading to Hyder, Alaska this morning. It is the southern most point you can reach in Alaska by road. You cross the border at British Colombia and Alaska then you turn around and drive out. There is a small town called Stewart, BC that you cross begore Hyder.

We asked the gal at the border patrol where to eat in Stewart as there is not much. She said the Mexican restaurant for sure.

We did and the waiter was a guy that suggested we go back to Hyder and ride up to the Salomon Glacier. It is the 2nd largest glacier in the Northern hemisphere.

So we did and headed back across the border. Man what a great tip. we climbed from sea level to over 3000 feet. It was about 35 miles of dirt dry dusty sharp rock to get there but man it was worth the time.

Had to tip the bottle Spencer Clark sent with me, this ones for you brother.

The drive up was absolutely beautiful.

We pushed the pegs up and throttled back down the road.
We headed north on the Cassier Hwy. Didn't know where we lay our head down just went till we were tired.

Check out our buddy Yogi that came out to say hello.

Rolled right by him and then he poised for Boyd. How can you love this stuff?

Found a camp by this lake and dropped camp. After a great dinner of freeze dried food and a few Crown Royals to chock it down we crashed after about 11 hours on the bike.

Yes I dropped my bike

Boyd are you supposed to be on the bridge?

Well let's see what tomorrow brings.
